What would you say to your Dad today if you could?
For twelve years I have been asking this question on Father's Day at Fark.com.
It has been so "cathartic" for so many, myself included. Each year I seem to gain something from the words of strangers. It lifts my heart. It has been so long now, that it is hard to remember his voice, his face. It is now a collage of real memories and old photos and context. His voice a whisper in my ear. His absence still the only consistent part of our relationship.

Dear Daddy,
Here I am again. Posting that thread in that place you never heard of.
Sharing our story with people we don't know. It seems to be a good thing.
Let's keep doing it so something good comes from that mess. Thanks for that.

Today I would say, I'm sorry.
I'm sorry we found you and forced you to face your past.
I should have just let you go.
